ABOUT

Stephen Sawchuk is an award-winning Writer/Director/Producer based in Vancouver, British Columbia. With over 15 years of experience under his belt, Stephen has produced well over 120 hours of film & television, including projects for Apple TV, MGM+, Hulu, Crave, Peacock, HGTV, W Network, E and Lifetime amongst many others.

 

In the course of his career, Stephen has had the pleasure of working with Academy Award-winning and Grammy-winning A-list talent. ​He has worked on productions of all scopes and scales across the globe... from independent films to reality television, documentaries, TV movies, factual programming, web content, print & television ad campaigns and everything in between!

In 2024, Stephen's short film, 'Hell Is A Teenage Girl' began its rounds in the international festival circuit., where it has already picked up a handful of awards including the Gold Remi at the 57th WorldFest Houston International Film Festival for Best Horror Short, wins for Best Director & Best Horror at the 2024 Cannes Indie International Film Festival, Best Actress for Skylar Radzion at the 2024 Luxembourg Indie International Film Festival, and four nominations at the 2024 Mammoth Film Festival for Achievements in Directing, Writing, Cinematography and Acting. 'Hell is A Teenage Girl' will have its Canadian premiere at the 2024 Fantasia International Film Festival on July 21st, 2024 in Montreal, and a feature-length adaptation is currently in development.

'Brats', a feature-length documentary he Line Produced for renowned production company Network Entertainment, made its world premiere at Tribeca this year (and is now available to stream on Disney+ in Canada and Hulu in the states). Additional upcoming projects include the 'Untitled Sly & the Family Stone Documentary' and the 'Untitled Bernie Taupin Documentary'.
